A revealing study was done at the University of
Copenhagen by Kenneth Jay to determine optimum cardio
exercises\workouts with regards to increasing one’s
whole body VO2max.
The study is very detailed, but the bottom line is the
exercise when used with proper training protocols to
achieve optimum cardio\fat burning benefits is the
kettlebell snatch. A close second was the kettlebell
swing. Of course, more than a few sets and reps are
required. For men Kenneth suggests using a 16 kg.
Kettlebell and for women a kettlebell of 8-12 kgs.
Kenneth goes into great detail about rep cadence and
timing of the workouts.
I have included a simplified, easy to incorporate
version of these workouts with the EDT training book.
